Praying for the DEA in the on-duty murder of an agent; and for a second critically wounded DEA agent and a wounded Tucson (AZ) Police Officer

Our Merciful Lord, our hearts are once again broken as we come boldly before Your Throne of Grace to lift up the men and women of the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration and the Tucson Police Department as three peace officers were shot in the line of duty. As we know the men and women of the DEA are in deep mourning at the loss of one agent and another who is in critical condition, may You grant the medical staff wisdom and insight to continue to treat and restore him to full health. O’ Lord, spare the life of this agent struggling for his life. We also lift the wounded Tucson officer into Your healing arms and seek Your continued healing touch to be upon him. As the families of these three peace officers have been deeply affected, may Your love, grace, peace, mercy, comfort and most of all Your Present be with them as You carry them through this dark valley. May they know Your word says, “He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.” So Lord, surround the men and women of the DEA and Tucson Police Department with Your Protecting Arms as they cope the loss of one of their colleagues and their two other colleagues. May they all be drawn unto the love of Your Son and may every law enforcement officer know that whosoever calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. O’ Lord, place a thirst for Your Son in the hearts of every law enforcement officer and every citizen in within the DEA and entire law enforcement community. May they intimately know Your word says, “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” As this incident is being investigated, grant the investigators wisdom and insight to gather all of the facts and prevent any future incidents like this. We are thankful the suspect is no longer a threat. Grant the investigators wisdom to piece together all of the facts in this incident. May Your amazing grace and love be poured out upon those grieving and mourning. May amazing grace ring true in the hearts of the family of your fallen and wounded servants. As we know this loss has deeply affected countless law enforcement officers in the U.S. and in Arizona, may Your Amazing Grace, presence and comfort touch their hearts and prevent them from enduring any long-term emotional trauma. In the coming days as the men and women of the DEA begin the task to prepare a final farewell for their fallen agent, may You raise up Godly officers, chaplains and others to be a Light to those in need. May Your Holy Spirit touch the hearts of many whose hearts are empty and are searching for truth. May many know You told us that You are the Way, the Truth and the Life, this we ask in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
