Our Merciful and Gracious Lord, we come with hearts of thanksgiving and gratitude before Your Throne of Grace to lift a wounded Lee County Sheriff’s Deputy and injured Atlanta Police Officer Steven Randerson into Your arms of love and mercy as they both endured near-death encounters. As both are being treated at the hospital, may You continue to guide the medical doctors with wisdom to diagnose their injuries and apply the correct treatment to bring about a full recovery. As we know there were many law enforcement officers, paramedics, firefighters, medical personnel and first responders involved at both scenes, may each of them sense Your grace and mercy carrying them through this difficult time and may Your amazing grace settle upon their heart, mind, soul and bring them comfort. We especially lift up the families of both peacemakers into Your arms as they surround their loved ones. May they know Your Word says, “The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.” Lord, we ask You to abundantly pour out Your love, grace, peace, mercy, Presence and most of all Your comfort upon them. As we know these injured/wounded peacemakers may be faced with enduring the emotional fallout from this incident, may Your grace prevent them from enduring any short-term or long-term emotional trauma. And Lord, as the men and women of the Lee County Sheriff’s Department and Atlanta Police reflect on the near loss of their co-workers, may Your word bring solace and strength to those in need, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” May You bring peace in the middle of this storm to many in need. Thank You, Lord, for sparing the lives of these servants. in the name of Jesus we pray, Amen
