Our Father in Heaven, we come boldly into Your Presence with hearts of thanksgiving and gratitude for sparing the life of this deputy. We are so thankful to You Lord, for sparing her life as the news reports indicate she is in stable condition and has undergone surgery. As we come before Your Throne of Grace, we lift up this wounded officer into Your Arms of Grace. As she is being treated at a local trauma center, we ask You to place Your healing hands upon her and grant the medical staff at this hospital with continued supernatural wisdom to guide them in identifying her wounds and then apply the correct remedy to bring about a full recovery. May you fill every medical doctor and nurse with Your Holy Spirit. As we know the many men and women of the Gadsden County Sheriff’s Department are deeply concerned for the welfare of their wounded comrade, may Your grace, mercy and comfort uphold them as You carry them through this emotional time. And as the family members of this wounded deputy are at the hospital supporting their loved one, we ask You to wrap Your arms of love around each of them and draw them unto Your side. Hold them ever so tightly, Lord. May Your Holy Spirit touch the heart, mind and body and this wounded deputy and may she sense Your Presence carrying her through this ordeal. And if she does not know the love of your Son in whom there is everlasting life and forgiveness of sin, may You raise up chaplains and other Godly officers to share Your love with her. We are so thankful that the suspect is in custody. May You grant the investigators wisdom to gather all of the facts and evidence in this incident. Finally, may Your Holy Spirit come along side every member of the Gadsden County Sheriff’s Department and allied agencies and first responders as we know they have been deeply emotionally and spiritually affected at the near loss of a co-worker. O’ Lord, may You raise up Godly officers and chaplains to be a representative of Your Light to those with hurting hearts. May You continue to pour out Your grace on this wounded deputy and draw her close to Your Side. May these words bring comfort to many in need of Your touch and grace, “In the path of righteousness is life, and in its pathway there is no death.” And, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” This we ask in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
