Our Gracious Lord,  We join with  the men and women of the New York Police Department in mourning this senseless suicide of an on-duty police sergeant.  Lord, the hearts of so many are very heavy right now trying to cope with this sudden loss.  Lord, we deeply need a touch of the Master’s Hand upon every member of the NYPD as the news of this loss ripples throughout their department and the entire law enforcement community.  Lord, right now, we know it is only Your love, grace, mercy and comfort that can sustain and carry them through this difficult time.  May this tragedy be the catalyst to cause any other law enforcement officers who are suffering from depression, PTSD or any other emotional issue to seek professional help.  May those who are especially in the throes of suicidal ideation be led to Godly chaplains, pastors, and other Christian officers where they can reach out for Your mercy and amazing grace.  And through this tragic loss of life, may the lives of many other law enforcement officers be drawn to Your side to realize and know the everlasting joy there is in a relationship with Your Son who bore all of our sins.  May many NYPD officers and co-workers be drawn unto Your Son by the Holy Spirit and may many be given an opportunity to personally know the eternal life found in Your Son.  This we ask in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
