Our heavenly Father, We come before Your Wonderful Throne of Grace as we prayerfully lift up the men and women of the Oregon City (Oregon) Police Department who are mourning the loss of their friend and colleague, Officer Robert Libke.  May Your unfailing love surround them and draw them ever so close to Your side where they can lean on You for strength.  May your mercies and grace extend to the many allied law enforcement officers who were at that dreaded scene and may they be comforted by Your sweet presence.  May Your endless loss surround Ofc. Libke’s wife and family at this most difficult hour and may You be the strength of their heart.  May you grant the investigators wisdom and insight to piece together this tragedy caused by an 88 year old man who also lost his life.  May Your mercies also extend to his family and provide them peace in the midst of this tragedy.  Lord, we are so thankful for reserve officers across America like Officer Libke who willingly put their lives on the line for little to no pay.  May your grace and mercies extend to the entire Oregon City Police Department and their local community as they come together to support each other at this difficult time.  May many sense the sweet presence of Your Holy Spirit sustaining their hearts and minds.  And in the coming days as they prepare to say farewell to Officer Libke, may many officers, friends, family members and co-workers be drawn to the love of Your Son in whom there is everlasting life.  May many officers realize how fragile life can be and come to receive Your Son as their Savior and Lord.  This we ask  in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
