Our Loving Father, The death of a co-worker and fellow law enforcement officer is always tragic but in this case, we know the men and women of the Columbus Police department are in deep mourning from the on-duty suicide of 22 year veteran, Officer Kevin D. Myers.  Lord, the pain in the hearts of many officers is very great right now as they try to make sense of this sudden loss.  We especially lift up Officer Myers family who are equally torn in their hearts right now trying to make sense of this tragedy—especially since it was on-duty.  Lord, as many officers, co-workers, friends and family members have been so deeply affected, may they lean on You for strength.  May Your love, grace, mercies and peace bring great comfort to their hearts and draw them ever so close to Your side.  May they know that if anyone is weary with heavy burdens may they know in their hearts they can always come to You for rest.  May you use this tragedy to draw many officers with the Columbus Police Department ever so close to each other in the bonds of love.  We know that You, Lord, can take a tragedy like this and bring about good to others.  So, as many officers and friends are numb and trying to make sense of this sudden loss, may they be drawn to Your side by the Holy Spirit.  May Your love be revealed to them in any way You choose.  May many officers be given an opportunity to know just how much You love them because of the gift of Your Son.  May many be given an opportunity to receive Your son into their hearts and receive eternal life.  May many be set free from any emotional or spiritual bondage that may be restraining them in their hearts and minds.  This we ask in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
