Our Gracious Lord, We are so grateful Lord that Your protecting Hand was upon Officer Smith during this violent confrontation and thank you for sparing him during this attempt on his life. May your grace settle upon his heart and mind as he is recovering from his wound.  May you grant the doctors wisdom and insight to effectively treat his injury.  May your grace and peace especially touch not only his heart and mind but may your grace and comfort gently settle upon his family and give them peace in their heart.  May your mercies and comfort extend to the other Columbus officers who were involved in this shooting and uplift them with Your arms of love and mercies.  May you also be with Officer Smith in the coming weeks and months and may You keep his mind and spirit strong.  May you keep him and any of his co-workers from suffering from any long term emotional trauma. May your peace that passes all understanding settle upon every officer involved in this life threatening encounter.  May You reveal yourself to each of them so that they may intimately know that You will forever be a shield and a strong tower about them.  May each officer realize their job as a law enforcement officer has been ordained by You.  May your Holy Spirit draw many officers and co-workers to come to know You in a real and personal way.  May they come to personally know that eternal life can only be found in Your one and only Son.  This we ask in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
