Our Father in Heaven, our hearts are broken as we grieve with the men and women of the Loudon County Sheriff’s Department in this tragic on-duty fatality of Sergeant Chris Jenkins. O Lord, we ask for Your supernatural presence to be made known in the hearts of the men and women of the Loudon County Sheriff’s Department as they sense a tremendous emptiness in their soul. May You be their Rock, Deliverer, Fortress and an ever-present help to them as they endure this tragic loss of a peacemaker just doing his job serving his community. Lord, we especially ask you to touch the family members of Sergeant Jenkins who are also in deep mourning from this tragic and sudden loss of their loved one. May You surround them with Your sweet Presence and may they know they can lean on You for You intimately care for them. May they know Your word says, “The LORD is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.” May You grant an extra measure of grace and comfort to the many individuals who were involved in treating Sergeant Jenkins. May You take this tragedy, and, by Your grace and mercies, Lord, and turn this into a blessing in the hearts of so many. May the memory of Sergeant Jenkins be treasured forever, and may You use this as an opportunity to draw many friends, family members and members of the Loudon County Sheriff’s Department ever so close to Your side for You said, “Never would You leave us and Never would You forsake us.” May You, Lord, grant the investigators wisdom as they work to determine the facts in this collision. Lastly, in the days to come, as preparations will be made to say farewell to Sergeant Jenkins, may You use this as an opportunity for the love of Your Son to be shared with many. May Your raise up Godly officers and chaplains to bring hope to those with broken hearts. Grant the Loudon County Sheriff wisdom to guide his department through this loss. Finally, may many friends, family members and co-workers be drawn unto the love and comfort of Jesus and may many come to receive Him into their hearts as their Savior and Lord, in the name of Jesus Christ we pray, Amen
