Our Father in Heaven, we come boldly into Your Presence to seek Your healing mercies upon this wounded Houston Police Officer. We thankful to You Lord, for sparing his life as the news reports indicate he is in serious but stable condition and has already undergone surgery. As we come before Your Throne of Grace, we lift up this wounded Houston Police Officer into Your Arms of Grace. As this officer is being treated at a local trauma center, we ask You to place Your healing hands upon this officer and grant the medical staff at this hospital with supernatural wisdom to guide to apply the correct treatment to bring about a full recovery. May you fill every medical doctor and nurse with Your Holy Spirit. As we know the many men and women of the Houston Police Department are deeply concerned for the welfare of their wounded comrade, may Your grace, mercy and comfort uphold them as You carry them through this emotional time. May Your peace, comfort and presence touch the second officer who was presence and witnessed his partner get shot. And as the family members of this wounded officer are at the hospital supporting their loved one, we ask You to wrap Your arms of love around each of them and draw them unto Your side. Hold them ever so tightly, Lord. May Your Holy Spirit touch the heart, mind and body and this wounded officer and may he sense Your Presence carrying him through this ordeal. And if this wounded officer does not know the love of your Son in whom there is everlasting life and forgiveness of sin, may You raise up chaplains and other Godly officers to share Your love. We are thankful the suspect was taken into custody. May Your Holy Spirit come along side every member of the Houston Police Department as we know they have been deeply emotionally and spiritually affected at another attack on another of their co-workers. So, Lord, may You raise up Godly officers and chaplains to be a representative of Your Light to those with hurting hearts. May Your amazing grace uphold the many families who’ve been affected so deeply. May You continue to pour out Your grace on this wounded officer. May these words bring comfort to many in need of Your touch and grace, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Finally, may Your word as follow encourage many as follow, “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.” This we ask in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
