Our Mighty Lord, we come before Your Throne of Grace with hearts of gratitude and thanksgiving that the life of another one of Your peacemakers was spared by Your mercies. O’ God we thank your divine intervention. Lord, we lift up this wounded officer into Your Presence Lord and ask for Your healing touch to continue to be upon him as he has already been treated at a hospital. May You reveal to the heart and mind of this officer Your amazing and unending love, grace, peace and comfort of Your Holy Spirit. May Your love, grace, mercy peace and comfort especially touch the family of this wounded officer as they are at his side supporting and loving him at this very emotional time. As another officer was present who witnessed this incident and likely had to fire his weapon, may this officer be drawn to Your side for comfort, mercy and grace to carry him through this near-death encounter. May Your grace additionally extend to the many co-workers and friends of this officer and uphold them with Your arms of love. Lord, we also ask You to give the investigators wisdom as they piece together the details of this incident in which the suspect was fatally wounded. May Your mercies, Your Presence and grace gently settle upon the hearts and minds of the men and women of the Lexington Police Department and draw them ever so close to Your side for comfort. May Your love and grace extend to the many other law enforcement officers, firefighters, paramedics and first responders who responded to that scene and surround them with Your love. May Your word strengthen every law enforcement officer as follow, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” May Your Holy Spirit reveal the Love of Your Son to the many law enforcement officers who were present at that scene. And if this wounded officer or any other officer does not know You personally, may Your Holy Spirit draw them unto Your side where they may have an opportunity to receive Your Son as they Savior and Lord. May they know Your word says, “Come to me all who are weary and heavy burdened and I will give you rest”, in the name of Jesus Christ we pray, Amen.
