Our Lord Jesus, our hearts are deeply broken as we join with the men and women of the Selma Police Department in mourning the on-duty ambush-murder of an officer. Lord, we therefore come boldly and in earnest before Your Throne of Grace to seek your endless mercies and grace upon the Selma Police Department Police and the entire California law enforcement community as they mourn the loss of their dear friend and co-worker. Right now, Lord, it is only Your Presence, Your Grace, Your Mercy and Your comfort we seek to settle upon the family of this fallen officer as they are in shock and mourning at this senseless tragedy. May Your amazing grace be with them and grant them peace through this terrible storm. May Your Hands of Mercy and Love supernaturally touch the hearts and minds of the many law enforcement officers who were emotionally and spiritually affected by this tragedy. We are so thankful the suspect is no longer a threat as he has been arrested . In the midst of this horrific loss, may You forever keep the minds and hearts of every law enforcement officer forever fixed upon You as their Rock, Fortress and Deliverer. As we know this can affect them emotionally and spiritually, may Your grace keep them from enduring any short-term or long-term emotional trauma. May Your mercies continue to be upon the Selma Police Department and the surrounding law enforcement community who have been emotionally and spiritually affected at this loss. Grant the investigators wisdom to gather the facts surrounding this heinous crime. May many friends, family members and co-workers of this fallen officer be drawn to Your side and may many reach out to Your Son for peace and comfort and in whom there is everlasting life. May Your name forever be glorified in the midst of this tragedy and may many receive Your Son in their hearts as their Savior and Lord and carry those through the difficult days ahead. May they know Your word says,” I will never leave your nor forsake you,” for Jesus said, “Come to me all who are weary and heavy burdened and I will give you rest.” Grant the Selma Police Department wisdom and grace as they prepare a final farewell service in the coming day. And as many will be attending this final service, may many be drawn unto Jesus and receive Him as their Savior and Lord. May Your peace that passes all understanding guard the hearts and minds of this fallen officer’s family and the men and women of the Selma Police Department, in the name of Jesus Christ we pray, Amen.
