Our Merciful Savior and Lord, we come before Your throne of Grace with hearts of thanksgiving and gratitude for sparing the life of a Maryland State trooper wounded in the line of duty. We are so thankful his wound was not life-threatening and again are so thankful he has already been released from the hospital. As the men and women of law enforcement have had multiple attacks upon them over the past several weeks, we seek Your mercy and protecting hand to be upon all peace officers. We especially seek Your grace, peace, mercy, love and comfort to touch the many law enforcement personnel who were involved in this incident. May they intimately know Your peace in their hearts, and You carry them through this ordeal. We are thankful the suspect was located and is no longer a threat. We especially seek a touch from Your hand to be upon this wounded Maryland state trooper and draw him ever so close to Your side. And as we know his family have been emotionally and spiritually affected at the near loss of their loved one, may they come to know Your love, comfort, peace and grace as You carry them through this near loss of a loved one. May Your word as follow bring comfort to those in need, “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.” And, “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.” Lord, we also seek Your grace and mercy upon every Maryland peace officer and family member that they may not endure any short-term or long-term emotional trauma brought on by this life-threatening event. And may this wounded trooper reflect on Your love and if he does not know You, may he invite You into his heart to be his Savior and Lord, in the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.
