Our Merciful Lord, we again come before Your Throne of Grace to lift up Officer Bobby Shisler was shot on-duty a few weeks ago during the apprehension of a suspect. As the news reports he is still in critical condition, we ask You, Lord, to grant the medical staff treating him with supernatural wisdom. May they be guided by Your Holy Spirit in his treatment to bring about a full recovery. As we know Officer Shisler’s family is at his side loving and supporting him at this very emotional time, we ask for the sweet comfort of Your Holy Spirit to settle upon their hearts and minds and bring them Your peace that passes all understanding. As the family, friends and co-workers are continuing to rally at this side, may they know Your word says, “Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.” And as You said, “I will never leave your nor forsake you”, we place our hearts and trust in Your Hands. May Your grace, mercy, peace, presence, comfort and love touch Officer Shisler, his family members and especially the men and women of the Deptford Township Police Department who are at his side right now. So Lord, we join with the Deptford Township Police Department and entire law enforcement community in New Jersey and lift them into Your Hands of love and mercy. May those officers and family members who were especially close to Officer Shisler know Your Word says to, “Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.” So Lord, as we lay our hurts and sorrows at Your feet, may Your Holy Spirit guard our hearts and minds at all times. May Your amazing grace be made real to Officer Shisler. And if he does not know Your love, may You raise up Godly officers and chaplains to be a representative of Your love and may He and many others know the everlasting life available only in Your Son, in the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.
