Our Father, The close-knit community of law enforcement officers across the U.S. are again in mouning at the loss of Officer Crisp and his K-9 partner. Lord, as evidenced by this heinous act, this continues to remind the public and those of us in law enforcement how dangerous the job of a “peacemaker” can be. Father, we ask for Your love, grace, peace and mercies to sweetly settle upon the men and women of the U.S. Forest Service Law Enforcement Division as they mourn the loss of a dear friend and co-worker. Lord, we are thankful that the suspect who caused this horrific rampage was apprehended and but unfortunately lost his life in a gun battle with more of Your peacemakers. Lord, the sinful acts of this one man has caused so much grief and sorrow for so many. We therefore Lord, come boldly before Your throne of grace seeking Your mercies in this desperate time of need. May Your grace touch the hearts, minds and spirits of the many law enforcement officers who have been so deeply affected emotionally. May Your strength be made real in their lives because of Your endless love and grace. May Your Holy Spirit console the hearts of the family of Officer Crisp who are in deep mourning and sorrow. As we know all things work together for good to this who Love You—who are called according to Your purpose, may many others have an opportunity to personally know Your endless love and be given an opportunity to receive You into their hearts. Grant the investigators insight to effectively investigate every aspect of this massive crime spree. May every person know that You will always be a refuge in their time of need. May they know they can approach You with boldness and that Your love will forever sustain them. May Many come to Know Your heart in a deep and intimate way, in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
