Our Merciful Lord, our hearts are broken as we mourn with the men and women of North Myrtle Beach Police Dept. in this tragic loss of a Sgt. Gordon Ian Taylor. Lord, we come into Your Presence to seek Your mercy, comfort, peace and grace to settle upon the men and women of the Billerica Police Dept. as they cope with this difficult loss of their dear friend and co-worker. We especially lift up the family of Sgt. Taylor and ask You to wrap Your arms of loving kindness around them as they cope with this sudden and tragic loss of their loved one. May You grant the investigators wisdom and insight to be able to gather the facts surrounding this accident. May Your grace, comfort, presence and Your mercies touch the many paramedics, firefighters and medical personnel who were involved in trying to save Sgt. Taylor and may You pour out an extra measure of grace upon their hearts. As we know traumatic events like this can cause emotional trauma in the hearts of many, even now and in the future, may Your grace and mercy preserve every person’s heart and mind and prevent them from enduring any short-term or long-term emotional trauma. And as we know there are countless co-workers and family members who have been so deeply affected by this loss, may they know Your word says, “The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid.” And, “Come to me all who are weary and heavy burdened and I will give you rest.” So Lord, may those grieving know they can always cast their cares upon You for You care for them. Lord, continue to hold every family member ever so close to Your side as we know they're deeply grieving and mourning ever so greatly at this tragic and untimely loss. May your word as follow bring comfort to many,” The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all.” May You raise up Godly officers and chaplains to be a light and hope to those in need. And as the Billerica Police Dept. must begin preparations to say a final farewell to Sgt. Taylor, may You use this service to point many unto the love of Your Son. May many hear the gospel and receive Your Son into their hearts, in the name of Jesus , Amen.
