Our Father in Heaven, You alone are our Rock and our Fortress and our ever-present help in times of trouble. And because of Your mercy, we earnestly come before your Throne of Grace to lift up the Santaquin Police Department as they are in deep mourning in the loss of a dear friend and co-worker. Lord, may your sustaining grace, peace and mercy touch the hearts and souls of the men and women of the Santaquin Police Department and the entire Utah law enforcement community as they are in shock at this heinous attack on this peace officer. May your love, peace, mercy, grace, Presence and comfort especially be with his family as they endure this great loss and are mourning and grieving ever so greatly. May You grant the investigators wisdom and insight to piece together the facts of this tragic incident in which a suspect fled. As the suspect is being sought, may you grant the investigators wisdom to locate the suspect and safely take him into custody. May You surround every peace officer in Utah with Your supernatural presence and keep them safe. May You raise up witnesses and citizens to spot the suspect. And should the suspect try to harm any other peace officers, may You intervene, Lord, and stop the suspect from harming any more of your peace officer-servants. May You surround Your peace officer with Your angels and cause the suspect to be confused and surrender. O’ God, as we know there are many deeply broken in their heart and spirit, it is You, Lord, to whom we seek to carry them through this very emotional time. May Your words as follows bring peace to those in need: “God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear…” and, “…call upon me in the day of trouble, I will deliver you, and you will honor me.” As the members of the Santaquin Police Department will now be tasked to make preparations to say a final farewell to their dear friend and co-worker, may the power of your Holy Spirit settle upon each officer and grant them strength in their hearts, minds and spirits. May the love of Jesus be made real to each of them. May every officer, family member and friend intimately know that no matter what, You will never leave them nor forsake those who love you and have received you into their hearts. May they know that You do not want anyone to perish but to come to repentance in You alone. May many be drawn to the Cross of Christ where there is mercy and grace. May your comfort settle upon every Santaquin Police officer and family member as we know this has affected thousands upon thousands of friends and family. O’ God, hold them so very close to your heart. May You raise up chaplains and other Christian officers to bring comfort to all. Lastly may your word resonate in the hearts of many as follows, “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” May You use this final service to draw many unto Your Son, this we ask in the precious name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
