Our merciful and Gracious Lord, we come with deep hearts of gratitude and before Your throne of Grace to thank You for sparing the life of Deputy Deteryon Fontonet ambushed after a pursuit. As the news reports his unit was riddled with bullets and sustained wounds from glass fragments, we seek Your divine intervention to continue to heal him. May You provide him with the necessary medical specialists that can identify and treat these wounds and bring about a full recovery. As the family of this wounded officer is at his side, may they deeply know Your love and Your presence carrying them through this difficult time. May You continue to provide him with the best medical care and may Your Holy Spirit draw this officer ever so close to Your Side by the power of Your Holy Spirit. And Lord, this is not just an attack on just one officer or just one department, this is an outright, evil-inspired attack upon the men and women of law enforcement in Texas and across America for Your word says every peace officer, “...is God’s servant, an agent of wrath to bring punishment on the wrongdoer.” Even though there are those bent on evil, we, nonetheless, come boldly before Your Throne of Grace to seek Your mercy, grace, presence, love, guidance and comfort to descend upon the men and women of the Harris County Constables Department. We are so thankful the suspect has been arrested and must now face justice. May You surround every Texas law enforcement officer with Your angels. May every officer remember their training. May every officer’s eyes not only stay vigilant, but may their hearts and minds always stay fixed on You at all times. May you protect and keep all peace officers from the snares laid for them and from the traps set by evildoers. So, Lord, we recognize that this attack on law enforcement officers is truly attack on everything that is good. So, Lord, as there are countless law enforcement officers and their families concerned for their loved ones, we ask You to supernaturally protect every law enforcement officer in Texas and protect them from all harm, danger and evil. We especially rest in Your Word as follows, “The LORD is known by his justice; the wicked are ensnared by the work of their hands.” So Lord, if anyone attempts to ambush any other law enforcement officer, may You cause their weapons to misfire or malfunction. Again, may they be caught in any trap they devise. Finally, may the name of Jesus be lifted high, and may countless law enforcement officers seek Your presence and guidance in all they do. Finally, may You use this near-death encounter to allow many officers to receive You as their Savior and Lord. And if any have fallen away from You, may You draw them back unto Your side, in the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.
