Our Merciful Lord, it is with a deep sense of urgency we come into Your presence to lift up a wounded Oklahoma City Police officer into Your healing arms. May You provide this officer with the best medical specialists in order to identify his wound(s) and provide the correct treatment to restore him to full health. O’ Lord, spare his life. May You surround this officer and his family with the presence of Your Holy Spirit. May The intimately sense Your Presence, Peace, comfort, grace and mercy as You carry them through this dark valley. May You raise up chaplains and Godly officers to be a beacon of hope. As the news reports the suspect is barricaded, may You surround all of the officers at that scene and protect them from all harm and surround them with Your angels. May Your Holy Spirit speak to the heart of this suspect and cause him to peacefully surrender. And if he tries to use his firearm again, may You, Lord, cause it to malfunction. May You protect every officer and citizen at the scene. We also want to lift up a seriously injured East Ridge police officer run over by suspect during a pursuit. As he is now reported to be in stable condition, may You spare his life. Thank you for the treatment he has received at that hospital and may You continue to provide him with the best treatment to bring about a full recovery. As both of these incidents have affected countless law enforcement officers and family members, may Your word as follow bring amazing comfort and peace to grieving and hurting hearts, “He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” And, Lord, as we know the men and women of the Oklahoma City Police Department and East Ridge Police Department have been emotionally and spiritually challenged, may Your Holy Spirit draw every officer and co- worker unto Your Son in whom there is abundant peace and grace for You said, “Peace I leave, My peace I give unto you”. Lord, as we know there are countless co-workers and family members present right now and are deeply concerned, may Your amazing grace settle upon each heart and soul and carry them through this time of uncertainty. O’ Lord, may You take these difficult circumstances and use them to point many unto the love of Jesus. May both of these wounded/injured peace officers come to know Your amazing love. Lord use chaplains and Godly officers to point many unto the love of Jesus and may many receive HIM as savior and Lord, in the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.
