Our Father in Heaven, We seek Your grace and mercies Lord to be upon a seriously wounded Norfolk Police Officer who was shot several times on-duty. Thank You, Lord, for sparing his life. As the news reports he is being treated at a hospital and is in stable condition, we come with boldness into Your presence to seek Your mercies upon the life of this wounded officer. So, Lord, we ask for Your divine intervention into the life of this officer and ask for Your healing touch to be upon him. May your Holy Spirit be upon this officer and all of the medical professionals. May You give the doctor’s wisdom and insight in order to apply the correct medical treatment and restore him to full health. May You grant emotional and spiritual strength to the many other officers who have been so deeply challenged in their hearts and spirits at this attack to their colleague. May Your presence be made real to every law enforcement officer and co-worker. May Your amazing grace especially touch the family members of your wounded servant who are at the hospital supporting their loved one. Lord, grant peace and comfort in the hearts of the men and women of the Norfolk Police Department. May You be their Rock, their Fortress, their Comforter, their Strength, their Shield and their Peace. Draw them ever so close to Your side in the bonds of love. As the suspect was shot and is in critical condition, may Your grace touch this suspect and draw him unto Your side. As a result of this near-death encounter, may many law enforcement officers call to You right now and may You hear the cries of their hearts. Grant healing mercies to this officer. May You grant the investigators wisdom to gather the facts surrounding this incident. Most importantly, may Your will be done. May Your word bring comfort to the Norfolk Police Department as follow: “Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” And, “…Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” May You raise up Godly officers and chaplains to be a representative of Your Son and may many seek HIM for peace and comfort. Lastly, may You receive Glory at this difficult time, in the name of Jesus Christ we pray, Amen.
