Our Merciful Lord, we thank You that You are our Rock, Fortress and an Ever-present Help. O’ God, our hearts are broken as we mourn with the men and women of the Fort Worth Police Department in this tragic loss of Sgt. Billy Randolph. Lord, we come into Your Presence to seek Your mercy and grace to settle upon them as they cope with this difficult loss. We especially lift up the family of Sgt. Randolph and ask You to wrap Your arms of loving kindness around them as they cope with this sudden and tragic loss. May You grant the investigators wisdom and insight to be able to gather the facts surrounding this collision involving a drunk driver. May Your grace, comfort, presence and Your mercies touch the many paramedics, firefighters and medical personnel who were involved in trying to save Sgt. Randolph. As we know traumatic events like this can cause emotional trauma to surface, may Your amazing grace preserve every person’s hearts and minds, and may they be drawn to You for comfort. As we know there are some who have been very deeply affected by this tragic loss, may they know Your word says, “The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid.” And, “Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you." So Lord, may those in need of Your Touch, call to You for grace and peace and may You bring about good through this tragedy. And as the Fort Worth Police Department will begin the process to prepare a final farewell to Sgt. Randolph, may many hear the good news for the first time and may many receive Your Son into their hearts as their savior and Lord. May these words bring comfort to many as follows, “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God”, in the name of Jesus we Pray, Amen.
