O’ Lord, we are so grateful for Your wonderful mercies upon this wounded Princeton Police officer and are so thankful that You spared his life. As the news reports he is in stable condition after being shot on duty, we ask you to grant the doctor’s wisdom and insight to continue to accurately diagnose and treat his wound and bring about a full recovery. We, therefore, lift up this officer before Your Throne of Grace and ask You to wrap Your loving arms around him as he recovers from this near-death experience. May Your peace that passes all understanding sustain this officer and may he be drawn ever close to Your side for the continuing comfort of Your Holy Spirit. May Your peace, mercy, grace, love and everlasting comfort also settle upon the family of this wounded officer, and may Your grace additionally touch every member of the Princeton Police Department as they rally around to support their wounded comrade and his family. As this is the fourth Texas peace officer shot this week, may You, Lord, use this life-threatening incident as a reminder to law enforcement officers across America and the world to forever be vigilant in everything they do. We are thankful the suspect has been arrested. Lord, as we know this near-death encounter has likely affected the men and women of the Princeton Police Department and other allied law enforcement agencies, may You comfort many with Your words as follows, “He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary; they will walk and not be faint.” May every member of the Princeton Police Department know that You ordained their job as a peacemaker to protect and serve their community wherever they may be. And through this near-death encounter, may many law enforcement officers come to recognize their need to draw near to You for You will then draw near to them. May many come to receive Your forgiveness and receive Your Son as their Savior and Lord, in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
