Our Father, this Easter week-end has already started to be very difficult for law enforcement officers across America. We first life up the Indianapolis (Indiana) Metropolitan Police Department in the murder-suicide of Sgt. Ryan Anders and his ex-wife Officer Kimberlee Carmack. Lord, our hearts are so heavy as we join in mourning this tragic loss of two law enforcement officers—victims of domestic violence. May Your strength, grace, peace and mercy be ever present with the entire Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.
Lord we next lift up Fredericksburg (Texas) Police Officer Bradley Durst who was shot during a traffic stop. We are so thankful that he survived and is being treated at a local hospital. May You continue to grant the medical doctors insight to treat his injuries and restore him to full health. May your Holy Spirit touch the multitude of law enforcement officers who were being fired upon involved in the ensuing pursuit of the suspect. Thank you, Lord, for protecting them all. May Your hands of love and grace surround every officer, their families and co-workers who were affected by this highly emotional life-threatening incident. May the heats and minds of the many law enforcment officers involved in this pursuit be preserved in Your love and grace from enduring any long-term emotional trauma.
Finally, we lift up Bergen County (New Jersey) Police Officer Daniel Breslin and a Bexar County (Texas) Sheriff’s Deputy who were both seriously injured by a drunk drivers in separate on-duty collisions. May You be with the medical doctors and grant them grace and wisdom to diagnose all of their injuries and render the proper treatment. May You be with the family members and many co-workers who are rallying around Officer Breslin and the Bexar County Deputy. May Your Presence be made real and may the injured law enforcement officers and their families know that You will be their Rock and Strength. May You grant them healing mercies.
Our Gracious Lord, more than anything on this Easter week-end, may You reveal Yourself to every law enforcement officer with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, the Fredericksburg Police Department, the Bergen County Police Department and the Bexar County Sheriff’s Department--and especially the many family members and friends. May they each intimately sense Your sweet presence in their hearts and minds wherever they go. In the midst of these uncertain times, May they know that anyone who calls upon the name of the Lord will be saved. May They know You will be their Rock, Fortress and Deliver. May They cast all their cares upon You as we know You will supply all of their needs according to Your glorious riches in Christ Jesus. May every officer, family member and friend be able to hear Your Resurrection message this week-end and may many come to receive You into their hearts and gain eternal life with You. This we ask in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
