Our Father, Once again Lord, as the attacks on Your servants continue, it is unto You who we are so ever grateful for Your saving grace to have been upon the lives of these three law enforcement officers who were each wearing their body armor. We first want to lift up Colorado State Trooper Eugene Hofacker who is the most seriously wounded. May Your grace and mercies be upon his life. We thank You for the gift of modern medicine and ask You to guide the medical doctor’s hands and minds as they render treatment to this deputy. May his recovery be speedy and may You use this as an opportunity to draw not only Trooper Hofacker close to you, but his family and many co-workers, too. Although another deputy was forced to use deadly force in which the suspect died, we are thankful the suspect will not be able to assault any more peacemakers. May Your grace be with the deputy who had to take the life of the suspect and surround him with Your peace.
We next want to bring a Jackson County Sheriff's deputy into Your presence and again thank You for sparing his life because of body armor. As he is being treated at a hospital for his injuries, we are thankful that he will make a full recovery and again seek Your mercies upon him. May Your grace, mercies and peace touch the entire Jackson County Sheriff's Department as they rally around this wounded deputy and his family.
Finally, we lift up another peacemaker saved because of his body armor, a deputy with the Humboldt County Sheriff's Department. Lord, we are so very grateful that You gave men the wisdom to create body armor for law enforcement officers as it allowed these three peacemakers to survive. As we know these life-threatening incidents for each these law enforcement officers will forever leave an indelible mark on their hearts and minds, we know it is Your grace, mercy, peace and unending love that will carry them through. May Your grace touch the hearts of every family member and co-worker and draw each close to You. May many be drawn to Your side for comfort and may many come to really know how much You love them. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
