Our Father in Heaven, we come boldly before Your Throne of Grace to lift the Carroll County Sheriff’s Department in the on-duty murder of Deputy Logan Utt and a second wounded deputy up; for the Central Berks (PA) Police Department in the on-duty fatality of Officer Kristen Yeager and for an injured/wounded San Bernardino (CA) Police Officer. O’ Lord, we want to lift the men and women of the Carroll County Sheriff’s Department, the Central Berks Police Departent and the San Bernardino Police Department into Your Arms of love as they cope with the loss and injury of their co-workers. As the family of Carroll County Deputy Logan Utt and Central Berks Police Officer Kristen Yeager are grieving and mourning ever so greatly, may Your Presence and comfort settle upon their hearts and minds and fill them with your mercy and grace. May You carry them through this tragic loss. And as a San Bernardino Police Officer and another Carroll County Sheriff’s Deputy are recovering from injuries, may You provide them with the needed medical care and provide a full recovery. As the suspecy in Virginia is on the run, may You grant the investigators supernatural wisdom to locate and take him into custody. O’ Lord, protect every peace officer and especially those involved in the search for the suspect. May Your mercies extend to the many other officers, paramedics, firefighters who rendered aid to each of these peace officers. We are thankful the suspect in San Bernardino is no longer a threat. May You grant the investigators wisdom as they investigate each incident. Lord, in the coming days, may You raise up Godly officers, friends and/or chaplains to continue to minister Your love to the many other peace officers, friends and family members in Carroll County, Central Berks and San Bernardino who have been so deeply affected by these traumatic incidents. May each incident draw many ever so close to Your side where there is amazing grace and peace. As these peace officers cope with the reality of each near-death encounter, may You draw them ever so close to Your side and may You prevent them from enduring any short-term or long-term emotional or spiritual trauma. May Your word dwell richly in the hearts of so many as follows, “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction…” And, ““Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” Finally Lord, if any peace officer or family member does not know Your forgiveness and love, may You use these life-threatening situations to draw many close to Your side where there is never ending love and peace. May many come to receive Your Son into their hearts, for Your Word says, “if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” May your mercy and grace especially touch the men and women of the Carroll County Sheriff, Central Berks Police and the San Bernardino Police Departments, in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
