Our Gracious Lord, it is again with heavy hearts that we approach Your wonderful Throne of Grace as we lift up the community of Little River-Academy in this tragic on-duty murder of Chief Lee Dixon.  Lord, may every law enforcement officer be reminded from this tragedy that no matter where they work, may they remain ever vigilant at all times.  Lord, we ask for Your endless mercies and grace to descend upon this small community who are in deep mourning in the loss of their police chief.  May Your peace settle upon those deeply grieving and draw them ever so close to Your heart.  May Your endless mercies and wonderful grace especially touch the family members so deeply affected at this tragic loss.  May your grace extend to the Bell County Sheriff’s Department who are conducting the investigation and protecting the community of Little River-Academy.  Lord, grant the investigators insight and wisdom to determine the facts of this senseless loss.  May Your bring about good through this difficult situation.  May this continue to be a reminder to law enforcement officers across the U.S. and abroad to always be aware of their surroundings and to remember their training.  And if any officer or family member are struggling emotionally or spiritually, may they be drawn ever so close to Your side.  May You bring about good through this tragedy.
