Our Father in Heaven, We come into Your presence Lord to lift up the Vermilion Parrish Sheriff’s Department as they are mourn the death of one of their own who was murdered.  May Your amazing grace and mercies descend upon the men and women of the Vermilion Parrish Sheriff’s Department at this very difficult time of loss.  May Your peace especially touch the family of this deputy and draw them ever so close to Your side and may they intimately sense Your presence in their hearts and minds.  Lord, we especially ask You to provide Your wisdom and knowledge upon the law enforcement investigators so that they may quickly apprehend the suspects.  May You be a shield around every law enforcement officer to protect them from all harm and danger as they search for these dangerous suspects. 

We also are so grateful to You Lord for sparing the life of a Rainier Police officer and Long Beach Police officer wounded/injured in the line of duty.  May You continue to grant the medical doctor’s wisdom and insight to effectively treat and heal their injuries and may they be fully restored.  May your peace that passes all understanding touch the hearts and minds of this wounded Rainier Police officer and injured Long Beach Police officer as they both experienced near-death encounters today.  May the wounded Rainier officer especially sense Your sweet presence in his heart and mind and protect him from enduring any long-term emotional trauma often brought on by these types of incidents.  May the families of both officers be drawn unto Your side and sense Your loving kindness and mercies as they rally around their loved ones.  Thank you, Lord, that the Rainier officer was wearing his Kevlar vest which very likely saved his life.  May You continue to instill Your wisdom upon every law enforcement officer to remember to wear their vests and to remember their training. 
May the law enforcement officers in the Vermilion Parrish Sheriff’s Department, the Rainier Police Department and the Long Beach Police Department, know that anyone who calls upon the name of the Lord will be saved.  May You use these above incidents to draw many law enforcement officers and family members ever so close to Your side where there is Your amazing grace.  May many come to know the forgiveness and salvation found only in Your Son.  May they know that those who wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength.  Grant strength of character and peace to all.  In the name of Jesus Christ we pray, Amen.
