Our Gracious Lord, we come boldly before Your Throne of Grace as we lift up the men and women of the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department in the murder of Officer Perry Renn. We know this loss has greatly affected them as this is the eighth officer to be shot in the past year and a half. O Lord, we seek Your endless love and mercies to be abundant upon them as they endure the loss of another dear friend and co-worker. We are so thankful for the willingness of these peacemakers to protect and serve their community in spite of the dangers they face every day. Lord, we ask for Your abundant mercies and amazing grace to descend upon the hearts and minds of every Indianapolis police officer and fill them with Your Holy Spirit. May Your peace, love, mercy, grace and Fatherly comfort especially touch the family of Officer Renn who are grieving greatly at this sudden loss. Lord, this loss is just another example of the dangers the men and women of law enforcement face every day. May the strength and power of Your Holy Spirit settle upon the entire Indianapolis Police Department. May the power of evil over the city of Indianapolis be broken and may You bring about peace to that community. May You continue to raise up prayer warriors for the city of Indianapolis and their police department. May many officers be drawn ever so close to Your side where they may wait upon You to renew their strength. May they intimately know that You will be their Rock, Fortress and Deliver. May You be a Shield about them and may You be glorified in the days and weeks ahead because of Your amazing grace. And as the Indianapolis Police Department prepares to say farewell to a fallen brother, may the final service be one that will draw many, many officers and family members to Your Son where they may know they can be assured of eternal life and forgiveness of sin. May they know that now is the acceptable time, that now is the day of salvation. May they hear the Holy Spirit knocking on the door of their heart, in the name of Jesus Christ we pray, Amen.
