Praying for Law Enforcement Officers and their families

Our Gracious Lord, This past week we saw nine law enforcement officers shot or injured in the line of duty across America. We are so very thankful for Your mercies to have been upon everyone of these servants of righteousness whose lives were spared. Lord, it seems at the beginning of every week, Your servants have been increasingly confronting those bent on harming Your peacemakers. So Lord, it is unto You, Our King of Kings and Lord of Lords, that we come boldly before Your Throne of Grace to lift up law enforcement officers everywhere. May Your Hands of protection, grace, mercy and wisdom settle upon the hearts and minds of every peacemaker. May Your Holy Spirit reach into their hearts, minds and spirits and grant them a supernatural ability to be an agent of righteousness to protect and defend the weak. May Your police officers who are Your ministers of righteousness speak up for those who are unable to speak for themselves. May You provide supernatural protection to every law enforcement officer at all times not matter where they are or whatever they are doing—such as—driving to a call, in a pursuit, at a shooting, on a domestic dispute, on a traffic stop, checking a suspicious person, while on a break or lunch, and even while driving to/from work or off duty. May You fill Your Christian law enforcement officers with wisdom and grace to be the best law enforcement officer at all times in order to be a Godly example to their co-workers. May You use these officers to share Your love with their co-workers and draw them unto the Love and forgiveness of Your son. As we know there are many law enforcement officers in bondage to alcohol, bitterness, anger, sex, pride, substance abuse, hate, etc., we ask for Your amazing grace and peace to touch their hearts and minds and draw them to one of Your servants to tell them of Your lovingkindness and forgiveness. May they know that whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord will be saved. May every law enforcement officer be able to say the same thing as King David did when he said, “I love you, LORD; you are my strength. The LORD is my rock, my fortress, and my savior; my God is my rock, in whom I find protection. He is my shield, the strength of my salvation, and my stronghold. I will call on the LORD, who is worthy of praise, for he saves me from my enemies.” Finally Lord, we lift up the spouses, siblings, children, parents and all family members of every law enforcement officer. As we know many close family members can sometimes feel distant due to the emotional trauma experienced by some officers, we ask Your awesome grace and peace to touch law enforcement families everywhere. May they be given supernatural insight and wisdom to know how to support their loved one in times of plenty and in times of difficulty or sorrow. May every law enforcement officer continually be aware of their surroundings at all times and may Your Holy Spirit prod their heart to know when danger is present. May they remember their training and may every law enforcement officer act with Integrity, Responsibility, Obedience and Nobility, for this we ask in the name of Your Son, Jesus Christ, Amen.
