Our Mighty Lord,  We come before You with hearts of gratitude and thanksgiving that the life of another one of Your peacemakers was spared by Your mercies.  Lord, we lift up this wounded detective before You Lord and ask for Your healing touch to continue to be upon him as he recovers from his wound.  May You reveal to heart and mind of this detective Your unending love, grace, peace and comfort of Your Holy Spirit.  May Your mercies also touch the family of this detective as they are at his side supporting and loving him at this very emotional time.  May Your grace additionally extend to the many co-workers and friends of this detective and uphold them with Your arms of love.  Lord, we also ask You to touch the hearts and minds of the SWAT deputies who had to use deadly force upon the suspect.  May Your mercies and grace gently settle upon their hearts and minds and draw them ever so close to Your side for comfort.  May Your grace extend to the many other deputies who were at that scene and continue to surround them with Your love.  May Your grace additionally settle upon the family of the suspect as they must cope with this loss.  May You continue to reveal the Love of Your Son to the many deputies who were present at that scene.  And if the wounded detective or any other deputy do not know You personally, may Your Holy Spirit draw them unto Your side where they may have and opportunity to receive Your Son as they Savior and Lord.  In the name of Jesus Christ we pray, Amen.
