Our Gracious Lord,  We thank you for always being our Refuge in times of trouble.  We therefore come into your wonderful Throne of Grace to bring the men and women of the Harris County Sheriff’s Department before You as they are mourn the loss of their friend and co-worker, Deputy Jesse Valdez III.  As we know You are our everlasting source of mercy and grace, we ask for Your peace that passes all understanding to gently settle upon the men and women of the Harris County Sheriff’s Department and draw them ever so close to Your heart.  May your grace sustain them through these difficult days as they must now prepare to say a final farewell.  Lord, we also want to lift up the 10 year old son and the mother of Deputy Valdez as we know they are deeply grieving the loss of their son and dad.  Even in the midst of this extremely difficult time for the family, friends and co-workers of Deputy Valdez, we stand on Your word that Your are able to turn our mourning into joy.  So, Lord, May your grace, peace, mercy and everlasting comfort be made real to them and draw them ever so close to Your side.  Lord, we also lift up the female suspect who caused this collision and ask that justice would prevail.  We also ask for Your grace and mercy to settle upon her heart and that she may see her need for your forgiveness and salvation. May many friends, family and co-workers realize that everlasting peace can only be found in You.  Most importantly Lord, may many have an opportunity to know You in a real and personal way and know the eternal life that is found only in Your Son.  This we ask in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
