Our Gracious Lord, We join with the men and women of the Maury County Sheriff’s Department in mourning the tragic loss of Deputy Darrell Perritt who lost his life assisting in a pursuit.  O’ Lord, we ask for Your grace, peace and comfort to touch the many co-workers and friends as they come to grips with this loss.  May Your arms of love and grace surround the entire sheriff’s department and hold them tightly.  Most importantly Lord, we ask for Your grace and supernatural comfort to especially touch Deputy Perritt’s wife and three children at this unexpectedly loss.  Lord, as we know the pain is ever so great, we ask for Your Amazing grace to be made ever so real to his wife, children and his whole family and may You carry them through this very difficult time.  Lord Jesus, may Your Holy Spirit protect the lives of the countless law enforcement officers across America and the world who operate motor vehicles and motorcycles in the line of duty.  May You remind every law enforcement officer operating these vehicles to be constantly aware of their surroundings and to always drive safely and most importantly, to remember their training.  As we know those involved in pursuits can get tunnel vision, may Your supernatural presence constantly be with law enforcement officers everywhere to protect them from all dangers while driving.  May You use this tragedy to bring about good to the Maury County Sheriff’s Department.  And as they must now prepare a final farewell to Deputy Perritt, may many law enforcement officers, friends, family members and co-workers be drawn unto the love of Your Son in whom there is forgiveness and everlasting life.  May they hear Your Word that says, “Come to me all who are weary and heavy laden and I will give you rest.”  Lord, grant rest to many with hurting hearts, in the name of Jesus Christ we pray, Amen.
