Our Gracious Lord, as we continue to see Your peacemakers assaulted and injured throughout the U.S. and abroad, it allows us to also see Your Hands of Mercy to continue to be upon the lives of so many of Your law enforcement officers.  So Lord, we come boldly before Your Throne of Grace to lift up Officer Michael Canada into Your Presence.  We are so very grateful to You Lord for keeping him from enduring any more serious injuries and most thankful for Your Grace in sparing his life.  Although a leg wound might not sound serious, we know the extreme emotional trauma that likely occurred to Officer Canada especially as he encountered this near-death experience.  We ask for Your grace to be abundantly poured out upon Officer Canada and may You draw him ever so close to Your side.  May You continue to give the medical professionals wisdom and insight ot properly treat his wound and to allow for a full recovery.  May Your peace touch the heart and mind of Officer Canada and the entire Fayetteville Police Department as we know traumatic incidents like this can emotionally affect individuals in many different ways.  May Your mercies, grace, comfort and love especially touch the family of Officer Canada and may they, too, know Your peace.  May You also comfort the family of the suspect who died and may they, too, know Your grace.  May You use this near-death experience to draw many family members and co-workers close to the love of Your Son in whom there is everlasting life and forgiveness of sins.  May anyone struggling in their heart or spirit intimately know just how much You love them.  May Many come to be a disciple of Your Son for Your word says that now the day of salvation.  In the name of Jesus Christ we pray, Amen.
