Our Gracious Lord, We are so grateful to You for Your Grace and Mercy in sparing the life of Deputy Barak Wood. Nonetheless, we know that he sustained a wound to his eye and we ask for Your healing power to be upon him and allow his sight to be preserved and healed. May You grant the eye specialists wisdom to be able to properly treat his wound and allow his vision to be restored to normal. Lord, we are thankful that the suspect surrendered and we ask for Your justice to be rendered in whatever manner You choose. Lord, we want to lift up the men and women of the Putnam County Sheriff’s Department and ask for Your love, grace, mercy and comfort to settle upon them as they come together to support Deputy Wood and his family. We also want to lift up Deputy Wood’s family before Your Throne of Grace and ask for Your grace, comfort and everlasting love to encompass them as they rally around Deputy Wood at this very emotional time. May You draw the family members, friends and co-workers close to You and each other in the bonds of love. At times like these, we know You will use these incidents to draw many close to You for we know You are the one who can provide great peace. So Lord, touch the hearts, minds and spirits of anyone who may be struggling with this near-tragedy. May this wounded deputy and many others be drawn to Your Son in whom there is healing, forgiveness and everlasting life. May many come to know that now is the acceptable time—that now is the day of salvation. In the name of Jesus Christ we pray, Amen.
