Our Gracious Lord, Our hearts are broken and spirits weakened at the tragic loss of Deputy Whitaker.  We come in Your Glorious Presence to lift up the men and women of the Ingham County Sheriff’s Department as they cope with the loss of their dear friend and co-worker.  Lord, as we know the suspect who caused this to occur escaped capture; we therefore ask that You would empower the investigators with wisdom in order to use every investigative technique to locate and apprehend this suspect.  May You raise up witnesses or friends of the suspect to turn him in.  We also ask for Your love, grace, presence and everlasting comfort to settle upon the family of Deputy Whitaker who must now cope with the loss of their dear loved one especially just before Christmas.  We also lift up a wounded Canon Police officer before Your Throne of Grace who is recovering from a stab wound to his arm.  We are so thankful to You Lord for sparing him for further injury.  May Your grace touch this Canon officer who was forced to fire his weapon in self defense.  We continue to bring every law enforcement officer with the Praying for the Ingham County Sheriff’s Department and the Canon City Police Department into Your presence and ask for Your Amazing Grace to touch their hearts and minds to carry them through these emotional times.  May Your love be made real to every officer, deputy, friend and family member.  And in the coming week as the Ingham County Sheriff’s Department prepares a final farewell for Deputy Whitaker, may Your grace become so very real to many hurting hearts.  May Your Holy Spirit draw them unto the peace, grace and love found only in Your Son and may many receive Him as their Savior and Lord, in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
