Our Heavenly Father, We come before your loving and wonderful Throne of Grace to lift up this wounded South Dakota Highway Patrol Officer into Your healing hands. We are ever so thankful that You spared his life. And as his injuries appear to not be life threatening, we would ask that You would give the doctors and specialists wisdom to be able to effectively treat his injuries and restore him to full health. May you use this life-threatening incident as an opportunity to draw many law enforcement officers close to Your side where there is endless mercy and grace. May Your protecting hands be upon every law enforcement officer and other surrounding agencies who are at that barricaded scene and protect them from all harm. May You give every officer wisdom and insight in whatever they do to remember their training and experience at all times. And if the suspect might attempt to attack any more officers, may you cause his weapons to malfunction May Your Holy Spirit speak to his heart and cause him to surrender or be confused in his mind. May Your Holy Spirit would go forth and thwart any attempts to harm officers. . We also ask for Your loving Holy Spirit to settle upon the hearts and minds of every South Dakota Highway Patrol Officer and the many other allied law enforcement officers and draw them close to Your side. May Your peace that passes all understanding settle on them to know that You will be their Rock and Shield. May Your grace especially touch the family of this wounded officer and may they be comforted by Your sweet presence. Grant the family members grace and mercy. May every law enforcement officer be drawn ever so close to Your side and may they be given opportunities to know the eternal life which can only be found on Your Son. This we ask in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
