Our Loving Father, We are so thankful to You Lord for sparing the lives of two sergeants injured in on-duty confrontations—in different states--both on the same day. We, first want to lift up an Eaton County Sergeant who suffered significant injuries in a confrontation in which he was forced to use deadly force. We seek Your grace, peace, mercy and comfort to settle upon his heart and mind as he recovers from his injuries. May Your presence bring him a peace that passes all understanding. We next seek Your grace and mercies to also be with Sgt. Amaya Urtasun who suffered knee and abdominal injuries in another on-duty confrontation. We also seek Your amazing peace and comfort to settle upon her heart and mind. May you grant the doctors and entire medical staff wisdom to effectively treat and restore both inured sergeants to full health. May your grace, peace, mercy and comfort touch the men and women of the Riverside Township Police Department and the Eaton County Sheriff’s Department as they support their injured co-workers. May Your mercies and grace touch both injured sergeants and may You preserve their hearts and minds from enduring any emotional trauma brought on by such incidents. May you grace also be with the family of the man who lost his life and sustain them with Your loving presence. May your grace and mercies especially be with the families of both injured sergeants. May your peace that transcends all understanding settle on their hearts and minds. May many members both law enforcement agencies know how much they are loved by You and may they intimately know how blessed is the man (or woman) who chooses to take refuge in You. May many officers and colleagues of both inured sergeants be drawn to you Lord for we know You are the only One who can and will provide them a peace that passes all understanding. May many come to know You, Lord, in a real and personal way, this we ask in the precious name of Jesus, Amen.
