O’ Lord, as law enforcement officers face all kinds of dangers, today, we see an unfortunate accident today that took the life of a young trooper after colliding with a deer.  We therefore come into Your Presence, Lord, to seek the comfort of Your Holy Spirit upon the men and women of the New Jersey State Police as they cope with this tragic loss of one of their own.  May Your grace and comfort touch their hearts and minds as they are mourning this tragic loss.  We especially seek your peace, grace and everlasting comfort to touch the family of this trooper who are grieving ever so greatly at this untimely loss.  We also lift up the surviving trooper who is in the hospital.  May You continue to grant Your healing touch upon his body and may he be restored to full health.  As we know this surviving trooper is very likely suffering deeply at the loss of his partner, we ask You, Lord, to pour out Your amazing grace on this troopers heart and may You draw him close to You to be comforted by Your arms of love.  And as the New Jersey State Police will now be having to prepare a final farewell to this young trooper, may You raise up Godly co-workers, chaplains and others to be a light to those with hurting hearts.  May they know, “The name of the LORD is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe.”  May Many be drawn to You for comfort and strength.  May many officers and others come to receive You into their hearts as Savior and Lord, in the name of Jesus Christ we pray, Amen.
