O’ Lord, we are ever so thankful to You for sparing the life of Officer Fillippo Gugliara who was stabbed with a large knife.  As the news reports he is in stable condition at a hospital, we ask You to continue to pour out Your healing touch on him and allow him to recover quickly.  Most importantly, may Officer Gugliara sense Your Presence in his heart as You carry him through this traumatic ordeal.  May You pour out Your love, grace, mercy and comfort on him and may he be drawn to You where there is everlasting peace.  May Your comfort and peace extend to the men and women of the NYPD who were involved in this incident and subsequent investigation.  May any officer or emergency worker who may feel overwhelmed be drawn unto Your Side to experience a peace that passes all understanding.  May Your Amazing grace touch Officer Gugliara’s family as they, too, may experience emotional trauma from this near-death encounter.  Lord, as Officer Gugliara had to use deadly force to save his life, we know this can be very traumatic.  May Your grace, love and comfort touch his heart and mind and prevent him from enduring any long-term emotional trauma.  Lord, may these  followingwords comfort Officer Gugliara and anyone else who is struggling emotionally or spiritually:  “We are praying, too, that you will be filled with his mighty, glorious strength so that you can keep going no matter what happens—always full of the joy of the Lord, and always thankful to the Father who has made us fit to share all the wonderful things that belong to those who live in the Kingdom of light. For he has rescued us out of the darkness and gloom of Satan’s kingdom and brought us into the Kingdom of his dear Son, who bought our freedom with his blood and forgave us all our sins.  In the name of Jesus we pray.” (Col. 1:11-13 TLB)  In the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.
