Almighty God, we acknowledge You as our King of kings and Lord of Lord and come boldly before your Throne of Grace with sincere hearts of thanks for sparing the life of a Las Vegas police officer.  We are so thankful that the injury to this officer was not life-threatening.  May Your mercy and wisdom settle upon the medical personnel as this officer is treated and allow him to receive a full recovery.  As we know there were also several other Las Vegas officers present when this deadly encounter occurred, we ask for Your amazing grace to descend upon their hearts, minds and spirits and draw them ever so close to Your Side.  And for those officers who were forced to use deadly force, may Your peace and Your Presence be made ever so real in their hearts to sustain them through this very emotional time.  Most importantly Lord, we lift up the families of each of these officers into Your Presence as we know there were countless wives, husbands, children, parents and others who were emotionally traumatized by this incident.  So Lord, may You use this near-death experience upon all of these officers and families to draw many ever so close to You for Your word says, “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.”  May you bestow wisdom and understanding upon the investigators as they gather facts and evidence in this incident.  May You use this near-tragedy as a training aid for law enforcement officers everywhere.  Lastly Lord, if any of the officers involved in this incident do not know You personally, may Your Holy Spirit touch their hearts and minds and draw them ever so close to Your Side to intimately know Your love, mercy, grace and the forgiveness of sins.  Also, if any officer may be in a backslidden condition, may they know You are nearby, ready to take hold them in Your Arms of love for Your Word says that now is the acceptable time, now is the day of salvation.  May every law enforcement officer across America and the world be given an opportunity to receive Your Son as their savior and Lord.  In the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.
