Our Gracious and Loving Lord, we are ever so grateful to You for Your mercies to have been upon this Las Vegas Police Officer in sparing his life in this shooting.  As the news reports indicate his sustained minor injuries, we ask You to pour out Your grace, love, peace, comfort, mercy and healing upon his body, mind and spirit.  May You grant the doctors with supernatural wisdom to be certain his injuries will be properly treated and that he will be restored to full health.  We especially want to lift up the family of this officer as we know the Las Vegas Police Department has recently had an officer wounded and we know this incident can be emotionally challenging to the families.  So Lord, may Your Presence sweetly settle upon the hearts and minds of every family member and draw them close to Your Side.  Most importantly Lord, we ask You to encamp Your angels around every member of the Las Vegas Metro Police Department.   Not only have officers in Las Vegas been attacked, but we have seen officers in Florida shot at today along with officers recently injured on on-duty collisions in Irvine (CA), Oklahoma City (OK), Virginia Beach (VA), Lexington (SC), Maine State Police and Moraine (OH).  Lord, every day, may those countless peacemakers who place their lives in harm’s way heed Your words that, “Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one's life for one's friends.”  So Lord, we seek Your mercies upon every peace officer who have been involved in any life-threatening encounter.  May anyone struggling spiritually or emotionally know Your word says, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”    May they also know Your word says, “You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you.”  So Lord, may You raise up Godly officers, chaplains and others to share Your Love to many law enforcement officers.  May many be drawn to the love of Your Son in whom there is everlasting life.  May many law enforcement officers in bondage be set free, in the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.
