Our Father in Heaven, We come into Your presence Lord to mourn the loss of a Kentucky State Trooper, Sgt. David Gibbs, from an on-duty traffic collision.  We thank you for always being our Refuge in times of trouble and therefore come into your wonderful Throne of Grace to bring the men and women of the Kentucky State Police before You as they are mourn the loss of their dear friend and co-worker.  May you grant the investigators wisdom to investigate the cause of this collision.  As we know You are our everlasting source of mercy and grace, we ask for Your peace that passes all understanding to gently settle upon the men and women of the Kentucky State Police and draw them ever so close to Your heart.  May your grace sustain them through these difficult days as they must now prepare to say a final farewell.  Lord, we especially also want to lift up the family of Sgt. David Gibbs as we know they are deeply grieving this sudden loss.  Even in the midst of this extremely difficult time, we stand on Your word that Your are able to turn our mourning into joy.  So, Lord, may your grace, peace, mercy and everlasting comfort be made real to them and draw them ever so close to Your side.  May many friends, family and co-workers realize that everlasting peace can only be found in You.  Most importantly Lord, may many have an opportunity to know You in a real and personal way and know the eternal life that is found only in Your Son.  This we ask in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
