Praying for wounded Hillsborough County (FL) Sheriff’s Deputy Scott Ranney

Our Father in Heaven, Unto You Lord, we give You thanks and Praise for sparing the life of Deputy Scott Ranney.  As the news reports indicate he is stable with a leg wound, we ask You to continue to instill wisdom and insight to the doctors treating him in order to render the proper treatment.  May Deputy Ranney fully recover from this wound.  May Your grace, peace, mercy, comfort and most of all, Your Presence touch Deputy Ranney and allow him to reflect on Your Goodness and protection.  May Your hands of grace touch Officer Ranney’s family who were obviously traumatized by this near-death encounter.  May Your peace and Your Presence surround them and may your Holy Spirit give them a calmness in their hearts and spirits.  We also ask for Your amazing grace to settle upon the other  Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Deputies who were present when Deputy Ranney was shot and were forced to return fire.  As the suspect is still on the loose, may You cause the suspect to be remorseful and surrender peacefully.  May Your Holy Spirit speak to his heart and mind and draw him into Your Presence.  And if the suspect attempts to use his weapon upon any more deputies, may You cause any weapons to misfire or malfunction.  Grant the investigators wisdom to find this suspect without incident.  As we know these life-threatening scenarios can emotionally affect many in varying degrees, we ask for Your grace to surround them and prevent them from enduring sleepless nights or any of the other related issues from this near-death encounter.  May Deputy Ranney, his colleagues and family intimately know they can Trust in the LORD with all their heart.  May they come to intimately know they do not have to rely on their own understanding, but may they think about You in all their ways for we know You will guide them on the right paths.  May You raise up chaplains and other Godly officers to be a light to the entire Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Department and their community.  May you use this near-tragedy and draw many officers ever so close to You.  May many receive You for the first time as their Savior and Lord, in the name of Jesus Christ we pray, Amen.
