O’ Lord, whenever a law enforcement officer in hurt in the line of duty, our hearts sink. And this is the case as two Troy Police Officers were shot during an intervention of a carjacking. As we do not know the condition of either officer, we know You are All Powerful and full of mercy. We therefore come boldly into Your Presence, to seek Your supernatural touch to be upon both of these officers. May You spare their lives, O’ God. Give the medical doctors an extra measure of Your Grace and wisdom to know exactly how to treat their wounds. May Your Holy Spirit be with these two wounded peacemakers and may You keep them strong in Your Love and Grace. May both officers sense Your sweet presence and may they intuitively know You are present and are with them. May You especially touch the families of both officers and hold them ever so close in Your arms of love. May Your Presence be real in their hearts and may You draw them close to Your Son. May Your love, grace, peace and mercy touch the men and women of the Troy Police Department as they cope with this attack of their colleagues and as they continue their search for the suspects. May Your Holy Spirit settle upon the hearts and minds of the suspects and cause them to cause no more harm or injury to any other officers or civilians. May You cause their weapons to malfunction or misfire should they try to use them. May You confuse their hearts and minds and cause them to be spotted and their location reported to the police. May You also confuse their minds and cause them to be unable to rest, sleep or think clearly. May they only gain rest once they have been caught. Lord, reveal Your amazing love to both wounded officers and if they do not know You, may You allow them to hear the Gospel clearly presented to them and may they receive You as their Savior and Lord. And even as the suspects must pay for their actions, may they, too, receive Your Son and gain eternal life. In the midst of this traumatic event, may every Troy officer and family member know they can, “Be Still and know You are God”. May these words become real in their hearts, too, “Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.” O’ Lord, spare the lives of these officers and may You be glorified. May Your will be done, in the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.
