Our Everlasting Lord, the dangers and difficulties of being a law enforcement officer are once again at the forefront in this tragic shooting of a Dekalb Police officer.  As the news reports indicate he is in critical condition after undergoing surgery, we come boldly before Your Throne of Grace to seek Your healing touch to be upon his leg and entire body.  May Your Holy Spirit grant the doctors wisdom to be able to continue to apply the correct treatment and bring about a full recovery.  We ask you to pour out Your amazing grace, love, peace, mercy and comfort upon this wounded officer and draw him ever so close to Your Side.  As he is likely heavily sedated right now, may Your Holy Spirit speak to his heart and may he intimately know You are with him and will never leave him nor forsake him.  May You especially comfort the family of Your wounded peacemaker and may they sense Your peace that passes all understanding carrying them through this very emotional time.  As the news reports indicate the police responded to the wrong home, we know this will be especially difficult for the officers and ranking staff members of the DeKalb County Police.  So Lord, may You fill these officers and managers with supernatural wisdom and grace as they examine all of the facts surrounding this incident.  Grant the investigators with insight and wisdom to piece together all of the facts.  Nonetheless, may every officer know that You, Lord, said you would never leave us nor forsake us.  So Lord, surround every officer with peace, grace and mercy.  May every officer know Your word say, “The fear of the Lord leads to life, and whoever has it rests satisfied; he will not be visited by harm”.  May every officer be granted an opportunity to receive You into their hearts and receive eternal life.  May You surround the entire Dekalb County Police with Your Presence and grace, in the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.
