Our Father in Heaven, it is because of Your Amazing Grace that we come before Your Throne of Grace to thank You for sparing the lives of these three corrections officers who were brutally attacked by a prisoner.  We are thankful that two of the officers injuries were not life-threatening and that they are on the road to recovery.  We seek Your Presence and healing power to be upon the third officer who was seriously injured with bleeding on the brain.  Lord, we ask You to continue to be with the medical personnel and grant them wisdom to be diagnose and restore this officer to full health.  May You pour out Your love, grace, mercy and comfort to each of these officers and sustain them with Your Arms of love.  Most importantly Lord, we ask You to pour out Your mercies upon the men and women of the California Department of Corrections and upon every correction officer across America and abroad as they are continually and regularly in harm’s way.  May you be a Shield about them at all times.  May You use this near-tragedy to cause many correction officers to examine their hearts and minds that if they should lose their life in the line of duty, may they be certain to make the necessary spiritual preparations should they enter eternity.  So Lord, we ask You to touch the hearts, minds and spirits of each of these officers and sustain them with Your arms of loving kindness.  May Your peace additionally settle upon the families of each of these injured officers as we know they, too, suffer emotional trauma just as much as these officers do.  May Your Holy Spirit strengthen these officers in their hearts and minds to allow them to return to their job.  May they learn to lean on YOU and may they forever trust in Your protection for Your Word says to those who trust you, “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.” So, Lord, we ask for Your Holy Spirit to go before every correction officer and grant them supernatural wisdom and insight to be able to detect danger.  May You cause their eyes, ears, hands and minds to be aware of danger and take action to save their lives and those of their co-workers.  May Your Holy Spirit convict the heart of the prisoner(s) who injured these officers and draw him unto Your Love and receive forgiveness of sins.  May many correction officers be drawn unto the love of Your Son in whom there is everlasting life and forgiveness of sins.  May You use this near-tragedy to speak to the hearts of many officers and may many invite You into their hearts to be their Savior and Lord, in the name of Jesus Christ we pray, Amen.
