Our Father in Heaven, As we know You alone are our Rock and our Fortress and our ever-present help in times of trouble, we earnestly come before your Throne of Grace to lift up the men and women of the Forest Acres Police Department as they are in deep mourning in the loss of their dear friend and co-worker, Officer Greg Alia.  Lord, because of Your love and Amazing Grace, we ask You to pour out Your peace, comfort and mercy upon the hearts and souls of every officer.  May your love and grace especially be with his family as they endure this painful loss.  As the members of the Forest Acres Police Department will now be making preparations to say farewell to their friend and co-worker, may the power of your Holy Spirit settle upon each officer and grant them strength in their hearts.  May the love and Jesus be made real to each of them.  May every officer, family member and friend intimately know that no matter what, you will never leave nor forsake those who love you and have received you into their hearts.  May they know that You do not want anyone to perish but to come to repentance in You alone for all eternity.  May many be drawn to the Cross of Christ where there is mercy and grace.  May your comfort settle upon every Forest Acres Police officer and many other officers from surrounding allied agencies.  Hold them close to your heart.  Grant the investigators wisdom to piece together all of the facts from this incident.  May Your mercies preserve the hearts of any officer from enduring any emotional trauma from this death.  We even ask for Your mercy to be upon the suspect even though he must endure man’s judgment from this heinous act.  Finally, May You use chaplains and other Christian officers to bring comfort to all, this we ask in the precious name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
