Our Gracious Lord, we come before Your Throne of Grace to lift up a wounded deputy who was shot with a crossbow.  We are so grateful to You Lord, for sparing his life.  As this deputy is being treated at a local hospital we seek Your mercies and grace to be upon his heart, mind and spirit and sustain him with the comfort of Your Holy Spirit.  Lord, we ask You to indwell the medical doctors treating this deputy with wisdom and insight to be able to accurately diagnose his injuries and then apply the correct treatment.  May Your grace and Your Presence also touch the family of this wounded deputy as they are supporting him at the hospital.  May You pour out Your Peace that passes comprehension upon them and may You be their strength and comfort.  And as the deputies at this incident had to use deadly force, we know traumatic incidents like these can leave emotional scars.  We therefore seek Your grace, love, mercies and peace to descend upon the hearts and minds of any deputy who was involved in that deadly altercation.  May they be drawn ever close to Your Side and may You prevent them from enduring the pain of any long term emotional trauma.  May Your grace be poured out upon the men and women of the Montcalm County Sheriff’s Department as they support their wounded comrade through this near death experience.  May Your grace also touch the family of the man who lost his life and draw them unto your side for comfort.  And if any deputy is struggling emotionally or spiritually, may You reveal to them the love and comfort of Your Son in who we can cast all of our burdens at any time for we know Your word says to anyone, “Come to me all who are weary and burdened and I will give You rest.”  May any deputy who may have fallen away from you be drawn back unto Your side.  May many know that now is the day of salvation, in the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.
