O’ Lord, we lift up the men and women of the Aitkin County Sheriff’s Department as they mourn the tragic loss of their dear friend and co-worker, Investigator Steven Martin Sandberg.  May peace like a river descend upon them as You carry them through this very difficult time of loss.  And Lord, as we know his wife and daughter are in deep sorrow and filled with grief at the loss of a husband and father, we ask You to pour out Your amazing grace upon them as You carry them through this traumatic ordeal.  May Your grace, love, peace and unending comfort descend upon the men and women of the entire Aitkin County Sheriff’s Department.  As we know this loss is affecting many so deeply, we know it is only by Your merciful hand will they be able to get through this tragic loss.  Right now Lord, it is the comfort of Your Holy Spirit that we ask to fill those grieving and mourning and may they be held up by Your abundant grace.  May these following words bring comfort to those hurting ever so deeply: Jesus said. “I am the resurrection and the life, he who believes in Me shall live even if he dies, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die.” And, “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.”  So Lord, as the Aitkin County Sheriff’s Department must now to prepare a final farewell to Investigator Sandberg, may You use this as an opportunity to draw all men unto Your Son in whom there is forgiveness of sins and everlasting life.  May many hear the clear presentation of the gospel and may many receive Your Son as Savior and Lord, in the name of Jesus Christ we pray, Amen.
