Our Heavenly Father, We come before your loving and wonderful Throne of Grace to lift up this wounded Detroit police officer into Your healing hands.  We are ever so thankful that You spared his life.  And as he sustained shrapnel in his left arm and his left leg , we ask that You would give the doctors and specialists wisdom to be able to effectively treat his injuries and completely restore him to full health.  May you use this life-threatening incident as an opportunity to draw many Detroit Police Officers close to Your side where there is endless mercy and grace.  May Your protecting hands be upon every law enforcement officer in Detroit and surrounding agencies.  May You give them wisdom and insight wherever they may go and to remember their training and experience at all times especially on this Halloween night, a night filled with evil.  And if there are any other individuals who may be planning more attacks on any officers across the U.S., we ask that Your Holy Spirit would go forth and thwart any attempts to harm any and all officers.  May they be stopped in their tracks, may their weapons malfunction and may their minds be confused.  We also ask for Your loving Holy Spirit to settle upon the hearts and minds of every Detroit Police Officer and every law enforcement officer in the U.S. and abroad and draw them close to Your side.  May Your peace that passes all understanding settle on them to know that You will be their Rock and Shield.  May Your grace especially touch the family of this wounded Detroit officer and may they be comforted by Your sweet presence.  Grant the family members grace and mercy.  May you also give the investigators wisdom as they search for additional suspects. May every law enforcement officer be drawn ever so close to Your side and may they be given opportunities to know the eternal life which can only be found on Your Son.  This we ask in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
