Praying for the Colorado State Police in the on-duty traffic fatality of a female Trooper

Our Gracious Lord, countless law enforcement officers across America intimately know what the pain is like to lose a co-worker while on-duty and we therefore join with the men and women of the Colorado State Police as they mourn the loss of a female trooper struck by a vehicle. O’ Lord, we ask You to wrap Your Arms of Love around every trooper as they are in deep sorrow and grieving ever so greatly at this terrible loss. May Your peace, love, grace, mercy and everlasting comfort touch their hearts, minds and souls as they endure this tragic loss. As we know there were likely a handful of troopers and first responders who had to endure witnessing the collision scene first-hand, we ask You to pour out an extra measure of Your grace upon them as they had to endure this tragedy up close. And as the family is in shock and mourning, we ask Your Amazing Grace to be made ever so real in their hearts and draw them ever so close unto Your Son to be comforted by his loving presence. As we know there is an emptiness in the hearts of many right now, may they be comforted with Your words as follows, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you. So we say with confidence, The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid.” So Lord, as the Colorado State Police must now begin the process to say farewell to their fallen comrade, may You use that as an opportunity to draw many unto the love of Your Son in whom there is forgiveness and everlasting life. And if any co-workers may have strayed from Your Path, may they be drawn back unto Your Side. Finally, may many hear the good news for the first time that, “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” In the name of Jesus Christ we pray, Amen.
